Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

I've decided that I love oranges. Not the way they taste. Not the way they smell. Not the color (at least not in large quantities.) And not so much oranges in real life. Instead, I am inexplicably drawn to images of oranges and orange blossoms, like the one on the right. My eyes just like the way they make them feel. (I know that's weird.) They're traditional, retro, modern, glamorous, and simple...all at the same time. Not quite sure how they pull it off.

Do you know who else loves oranges?

Santa.

And the woodsman.

And the Virgin Mary

For those of you that are now extremely concerned with the state of my mental health, rest assured that this is where my obsession ends. I will not be converting my home into a tiled mosaic shrine or holding circus sideshows in my backyard that no one will attend. At least not any time soon. But you can be sure that when I do buy my future home in Ft. Worth (no, I have not given up on it yet!) that orange blossoms will be present...in a subtle, tasteful way, of course!

Recording at Cedar Creek

We did it!

The weekend before last we took the entire band down to Austin to record at the best recording studio there...Cedar Creek Recording.

Click the link below to see who else has recorded here:

We managed to cut 9 tracks in 2 days!! It was exhausting, but we had a blast! The cd still needs to be edited a little and mastered. Once it's done, we will be adding a couple tracks that Kerry recorded by himself to the album. Then it will be ready for packaging! Kerry's sister Molly is going to do the cover art. (She's awesome, by the way!!) For now, we've got a 6 track demo with a temporary cover...

You can check out a few of these tracks on our website:

For those of you that don't already know, we are a Texas country band. Kerry writes all of our music, sings and plays the guitar. The other members of the band are below:

From left to right: Matt Riley (bass), Beau Johsnon (mouth harp), Lauren Davis (fiddle), Kerry Davis, Jr. (see above), Cody Lopez (drums), Jerry Graves aka Papa G (lead guitar, banjo, vocals)
As for the golf clubs? It was very unfortunate that this picture was taken on the same day as Kerry's amateur golf tournament. This explains the polos and khakis. However, it doesn't quite explain the clubs. The golf game ended a good 6 hours before this photo was taken. And Matt didn't go. Maybe he felt left out.

Other band and recording pics are below.

Silly boys!
Our groupies =)
